A calisthenics bar dance performance merging the aesthetics of high classicism with graffiti & street art, a carryover of the motif previously developed in the graffiti lovers motif in the bottom left hand of Museum.
This motif of graffiti architecture is inspired by the backdrop of London, where one might see tagging sprayed onto classical bank vaults. It also encapsulates the decadent contradictions in calisthenics culture, where bodies are sculpted in post-industrial ruins, funded by the ghost of inherited capital.
The daredevil hooliganism of calisthenics, often involving the scaling of public monuments, mimics the the architectural figures in classical friezes, however the dangerous heedlessness of said stuntmanship contrasts with the stony dignity of posterity and recorded history.
I designed the 'Cool S Colonnade' through comparative study of geometry and architectural manuscripts, discovering that the same golden ratio found in the classic volute could also be found in the Cool S. Classical designs such as volutes and cornices essentially merely extrude graffiti iconography.
