TENSIONS is an action painting/performance art collaboration with Ned Prizeman and Alesh Compton. It produced three unique works on paper where the strain of exertion becomes integral to the artistic process.
Breaking from the chromatic and kinetic singularity of Yves Klein - bodies passively instrumentalised - TENSIONS expands into a colour wheel of motion, where the body becomes a moving target.
Colour fractures into a wheel precisely because the body refuses to stay still.
Where Klein relies on gravity to register passive contact, TENSIONS records evasion and trajectory — the silhouette as evidence of motion rather than stasis.
